The heads of these friction mallets are really fused to the steel cable and won’t fall off. The handle is made of a flexible steel cable so it works MUCH better than a ball on a stick.

RickStix friction mallet is awesome! I loved having two sizes, each creates different sounds on my 26" wuhan chau gong. Easy to use a great feel in your hand. Bonus: If you have black lights, the green ball shows fluorescent. And the the clear ball is glow in the dark! Thanks, will buy from again when this one eventually wears out.
